Thursdays: 9:00-11:00 a.m.
Saturdays: 9:00-11:00 a.m. $30 per class (add $10 if we supply materials)
MATERIALS LIST For David's Classes/Workshops I recommend you purchase the materials "suggested" below for classes and workshops, as these are products that I have used successfully for over twenty years in the field, and believe will assist you in a achieving not only a higher quality painting but also a more enjoyable class experience! Of course I am happy to accommodate any supplies you might want to bring in that you are more comfortable with. You may purchase any or all of these products from a store or on-line from Michaels, Dick Blick, or Jerry's etc. Mountain Mist Studio has all of these items in stock, and since we buy wholesale, our prices are about the same. Also, We sell a class package that has everything you will need for any class or workshop, at a discount. We sell Grumbacher "Artist Grade" Pre Tested Oils. This is a very good medium priced paint. 1) OIL PAINTS 37ml. Raw Umber 37ml. Alizarin Crimson 37ml. Cadmium Orange 37ml. Cadmium Yellow Light 37ml. Cadmium Red Deep 37ml. Ultramarine Blue 37ml. Cobalt Blue 37ml. Yellow Ochre 200ml. Titanium White *59ml. Raw Umber Acrylic (to tone down canvas) 2) CANVAS Fredrix "Blue Label". This is a "Portrait Grade" canvas...all purpose. For Class #1 (2 classes) 1 canvas @ 11"x14" Class #2 (8 classes) 4 canvas @ 11"x14" Class #3 (16 classes) 4 canvas @ 11"x14" and 3 @ 16"x20" or "18x24" Once again, you may use ANY size you desire. 3) BRUSHES Silver Brush "Ruby" Filbert #2, #4, #6, and #8 Round #2 Bright #4 4) MEDIUM (this is necessary as a drying agent for the paint) Liquin Original (75ml) or Linseed Oil 5) Palette Knife ( ) 6) White colored pencil 7) Disposable Paper Palette (with thumb hole) 8) Color Wheel (9 1/4") 9) AND MOST IMPORTANTLY.... Bring reference material that you wish to paint from quality photographs etc. We also have quite a bit of reference materials at your disposal to use. *We supply easels (regular and tabletop), "Odorless" Turpentine (this is a must as it reduces fumes a ton), aprons and gloves, as well as coffee. You may bring any beverage you like. You will have access to our fridge!
