About David Berger
Miami, Florida native David Berger began painting in 1988, moved to do so by a life-altering experience.
He experimented with watercolors for four years before discovering his passion for oil painting. He studied the works of old-world chiaroscuro painters at the Maitland Art Center under Barbara Tiffany and Greg Kreutz, students of David Leffel at the Art Students League in New York City.
For over 18 years, David painted still life, gaining a reputation for executing extraordinary realism with his delicate lace and intricate, colorful vases.
In 2009, soon after moving to his mountain home in Cashiers, NC, he became inspired by the breathtaking beauty of the area. That is when he picked up his brushes and began creating landscape masterpieces.
His work is displayed in the western residency of the governor of North Carolina among other private collections. His work has also been shown in major outdoor art festivals including the Coconut Grove Art Festival (Miami, FL), Winter Park Art Festival (Winter Park, FL), Disney Festival of Masters (Orlando, FL), Gasparilla Art Festival (Tampa, FL) and the Boca Raton Museum Art Fest (Boca Raton, FL).
He now owns and operates Mountain Mist Gallery in Cashiers, NC.
